Future Warcats

Calling all future Warcats in Westerville, Big Walnut, Gahanna, and Reynoldsburg! Your journey to becoming a skilled Warcat starts here. Join our vibrant community and prepare for your future with exclusive programs designed to hone your abilities. Get a head start with Future Warcats Night, intensive summer camps for middle schoolers, and Bantam Bridge practices for 7th and 8th graders. Develop your skills, connect with fellow Warcats, and set yourself up for success

Future Warcat Night:

Join us for Future Warcats Night, a can't-miss event that coincides with our electrifying Senior Night! This is your chance to connect with fellow Future Warcat families, meet the Warcats Board, and get all your burning questions answered. Plus, witness the energy of our JV and Varsity teams in action! Get ready for an evening packed with raffles, contests, silent auctions, and unforgettable Warcat spirit!

Requirements:

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered to attend the Future Warcats Night
  • Players should be in 8th grade or younger
  • Live within a school district that is designated with the Warcats Hockey Association
  • Timeframe: February
  • Cost: Free

 

Middle School Summer Camp:

Get ready for a week of on-ice excitement! The Warcats Middle School Summer Camp, held each July, offers a fun and engaging way to improve your skills and connect with our awesome Warcats coaching staff. Whether you're a Future Warcat or just looking for a great summer camp, all middle schoolers are welcome!

Requirements:

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered to attend the Middle School Camp
  • Players should be in 8th grade or younger
  • This summer camp is open to all players, not just players within the Warcats school districts!
  • Timeframe: Mid-July

 

Bantam Bridge:

Take your game to the next level! During the season, 7th and 8th-grade players get a unique opportunity to practice weekly with the Warcats JV team. Experience the intensity of high school practices, gain invaluable instruction from our coaching staff, and connect with current Warcat players. It's the perfect bridge to high school hockey!

Requirements:

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered for the Bantam Bridge Program
  • Players should be in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade within the Warcats school discticts
  • Timeframe: November - January

 

SPECIAL 8th GRADE NOTE:

Future Warcats, prepare for your tryout! To be eligible for Warcat tryouts the summer prior to your 9th-grade year, a GPA of 1.75 or higher is required. Focus on your academics and strive for success both on and off the ice!

High School

High School Hockey Players: Ignite your potential and dominate the upcoming season! Whether you're a returning Warcat or an aspiring newcomer, our exclusive programs are designed to sharpen your skills and give you a competitive edge. Join our vibrant community and prepare for the season ahead. We proudly serve the Westerville, Big Walnut, Gahanna, and Reynoldsburg school districts, offering tailored programs for our district players and open opportunities for all high school athletes.

High School Summer League by The Chiller:

Kick start high school hockey and join us for Summer League organized by The Chiller. It is a recreational league for incoming and current high school hockey players. Non-Checking Classification. Preference will be given to returning and future Warcats, but all players are welcome to sign up! 

Requirements:

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered for the Summer League
  • Players should be incoming 9th grade or older
  • This is open to all players, but the Warcats school districts will be given first preference
  • Timeframe: Summer TBD

 

High School Summer Camps:

Each year the Warcats Hockey Association offers a Summer Camp for high school aged players. Elevate your game with two intense week-long sessions led by our expert Warcat coaches. Dive into skill development, gain crucial ice time, and experience an opportunity to fine-tune your abilities and make a statement. Open to all high school players ready to push their limits

Requirements:

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered to attend the High School Camp sessions
  • Players should be incoming 9th grade or older
  • This summer camp is open to all players, not just players within the Warcats school districts!
  • Timeframe: Mid to Late-July

 

Summer Skating Sessions:

Sharpen your edge throughout the summer and join us for targeted skating sessions designed to enhance your speed, agility, and puck-handling skills. These sessions are perfect for staying sharp during the off-season and preparing for the demands of high-level competition. Open to all high school players ready to push their limits.

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered to attend all or individual skating sessions
  • Players should be incoming 9th grade or older
  • These skating sessions are open to all players, not just players within the Warcats school districts!
  • Timeframe: Summer TBD

 

Pre-Tryout Skates:

These sessions are designed to help players prepare for the upcoming tryouts. These skates will focus on conditioning, skills development, and helping players get comfortable with the speed and intensity expected during tryouts.

  • Registered on Warcats.org
  • Registered to attend all or individual skating sessions
  • Players should be incoming 9th grade or older
  • These skating sessions are only open to players trying out for Warcats
  • Timeframe: Spring


Tryouts:

This is where your ambition meets its test. Every registered player within the Warcats school districts will be evaluated across all tryout sessions, assessed by our seasoned Warcat coaching staff. Showcase your fundamental and competitive hockey skills and strategic prowess. On the final day, receive direct, personalized feedback from the coaching staff, revealing your performance and potential team placement. Team selections are based exclusively on the coaches' expert evaluations and the strategic needs of the program. This is your moment to prove you have the drive and skill to become a Warcat!
